THE PROGRAM

COST: $3460 + gst

PAYMENT PLAN AVAILABLE:

$356 deposit + weekly payment of $75 for 45 weeks.

Scissor Licence is designed to produce industry-ready stylists.


The program: 7 days of hands-on cutting education, over 3 separate workshops within a 10 month period. Included in the price of the program is 2 pairs of Elite Premium Scissors, (RRP $990) you also will have access to our social media forum and assistance using our SNIPT APP.


The 3 workshops included are:

1: FOUNDATION CUTTING    (2 days)

3: FINISHING SCHOOL           (2 days)

  • 1: FOUNDATION CUTTING

    Foundation Cutting forms part of our Scissor Licence Program. You can book this workshop as part of your Scissor Licence OR as a stand-alone workshop.  All Foundation Workshops are complete for 2026. Please complete an EOI  to attend in 2027.


    This two day workshop builds solid fundamentals for stylists needing to master the four essential principle haircuts:

    1. Solid form
    2. Increase layer
    3. Graduation
    4. Uniform layer

    This hands-on, precision cutting workshop forms the building block for a career as a stylist. It is designed to teach how to cut hair, not just "do a haircut".

2 DAY WORKSHOP

  • 2: BOOTCAMP CUTTING

    Bootcamp Cutting forms part of our Scissor Licence Program. You can book this workshop as part of your Scissor Licence OR as a stand-alone workshop.


    This three day hands-on workshop builds confidence in a stylist, enabling them to execute long, medium and short haircuts on women and men.

3 DAY WORKSHOP

Three days of intensive cutting.

  • 3: FINISHING SCHOOL CUTTING

    Finishing School Cutting forms part of our Scissor Licence Program. You can book this workshop as part of your Scissor Licence OR as a stand-alone workshop.


    This two day, cutting workshop covers all the critical cutting techniques that are not taught in Cert. III Hairdressing at TAFE or college. 


    Finishing School Cutting is designed to have you understanding advanced cutting techniques and polishing your skills so you can execute any commercial look your client desires.

FAQ

  • What is a Scissor Licence?

    Scissor Licence is a private education program that focuses on developing confidence, understanding and high level skills needed for commercial hair cutting.

  • Do I have to be enrolled in Cert III?

    To attend our training Apprentices must be enrolled in, or have completed Cert III Education at TAFE or college. 


    Your college will provide the minimum standard required to become qualified, while enrolling in a Scissor Licence with Elite Hair Education raises your skill level, enabling you to specialise.

  • How does the program work?

    The program consists of 7 days of hands-on cutting education, delivered in 3 separate workshops within a 12 month period. When you enrol into a Scissor Licence Program, you will automatically be placed in all 3 workshops included in that program.


    Typically, salons will enrol an apprentice or students may enrol themselves.

  • How do I enrol?

    Enrol online via our website or give us a call on 0412 551 498. When you enrol into a Scissor Licence Program, you will automatically be placed in all 3 workshops included in that program.

  • Who owns the scissors, the salon or the student?

    When you enrol, you will receive a scissor kit from Elite Scissors, our sister business. The scissors technically belong to the person paying for the program and are valued at $990 RRP.

  • What if my apprentice leaves and I am in the middle of a payment plan?

    You can use the unused days of education included with a Scissor Licence any way you wish. The education days are fully transferable to any staff member. If you are on a payment plan you must fininsh your payments.

  • When is the right time to start a Scissor Licence?

    Typically an apprentice would start cutting at college or TAFE, mid to late in their first year. It isn’t necessary to align this program with their college, however the closer they are aligned, the better the student will perform.

  • What does a student have to complete to progress to the next workshop?

    Each student will be given a personalised, in-salon action plan at the end of Foundation Cutting and Bootcamp Cutting. By completing this training, the student will be ready to progress to Finishing School Cutting.


  • Does Scissor Licence make me a qualified hairdresser?

    In some cases, your college will do a skill assessment and by completing our Scissor Licence, you may be given recognition of prior learning. 


    You must however, gain your Cert III through college or TAFE to be recognised as a qualified hairdresser.

  • Can I make weekly payments?

    Yes, we offer a weekly payment plan. Please enrol by clicking "Book now" and pay the deposit. 


    We  will then email you an invoice, you will need to make your first payment and 'enroll in autopay' which will set up a weekly payment schedule of $75 per week, using your credit or debit card.

  • Are there any other fees or charges?

    There are no bank fees, charges or admin fees for our Scissor License Program. If your weekly payment is declined, their will be a $15 admin fee for each declined payment.

  • What time do our workshops commence?

    Please arrive at 9:00am for a 9:30am start.


    Approximate finish time is 4:30pm.
